St Michael's College, Tenbury Wells

Moore Development Management has been appointed to manage the planning and disposal of St Michael’s College (Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire) with a view to maximising the value of the client's interest and securing a viable use for the site that will conserve the Grade II* Listed building.

St Michael’s College was founded in 1856 as a choir school for boys. Designed by renowned English Church Architect Henry Woodyer, the School was the set for the 1986 Halloween movie The Worst Witch starring Tim Curry. It was acquired by the current owners in 1990 and run as an independent international boarding school before closing in 2020.

The School grounds total nearly 23 acres with a diverse range of buildings extending to 72,000 sq ft including the principal Grade II* Listed college building, teacher housing, classroom blocks, student boarding houses and a sports hall.

David comments, “It is a real privilege to be working with the owners of St Michael’s College and stakeholders to deliver a viable market facing solution that will secure the long term future for a building of architectural merit and significance.”
